
Description
A north to south drive through Matanzas province across beautiful landscapes citrus crops and sugar cane fields. Stop at Fiesta Campesina, an estate that is used as a rest area and has an interesting exhibit of Cuban flora and fauna. The road continues into the Parque Ciénaga de Zapata; a little farther along you come to La Boca.
Arrival to Montemar National Park, proposed as a biosphere reservoir by UNESCO. Visit to the largest crocodile nursery of the island. A launch will take you from La Boca to La Laguna del Tesoro. The route passes along a channel cut through the vegetation. Once you have crossed the lagoon, the launch takes you to the Guama Tourist Center. Built in imitation of a Taino Indian village; in one there is a sequence of 25 life-size sculptures
depicting the daily activities of the indigenous people. Typical Cuban lunch in a local restaurant. Continuing to Playa Larga beach and Bay of Pigs, which are outstanding historical places. Free time to enjoy the beach on the Caribbean Sea.
